Our Story
Susu Lend was born from a simple truth: the people who need credit most are the ones the system ignores. We're changing that โ one community at a time.
The Founder's Story
No credit history. No collateral. Just the people who knew him.
My father worked as a janitor at the World Trade Center. He showed up every day, lived paycheck to paycheck, always in survival mode with no room to save. So when an emergency hit and he suddenly needed to make a large purchase, he turned to the banks for help. They turned their backs on him.
So he turned to his coworkers, the ones who saw him show up, day after day, and trusted him because of it. They pooled what they had, took turns, and got each other through. No interest. No credit check. Just trust earned the hard way. That's a susu โ and it's the foundation everything we're building is standing on.
I built Susu Lend because I've lived this. I know what it means to watch a parent get turned away by a system that only sees numbers. And I know what a community that actually knows each other can do when institutions won't.
"Everyone deserves a fairly priced lending product."
โ Pedro Escobar, Founder & CEOPedro brings 20+ years across sales, IT, customer success, and entrepreneurship, plus a Cornell MBA and deep roots in the communities Susu Lend serves.
What We Stand For
No hidden fees. No fine print. We explain exactly what your loan costs in plain language โ English or Spanish.
Community trust is our collateral. When you repay, everyone in your circle benefits. That accountability creates reliability.
We treat borrowers like neighbors, not numbers. Every application is reviewed with the understanding that a real person is on the other end.
